Jacobs Bay:
A few kilometres north of Saldanha Bay lies the charming town of Jacobs Bay. The features of the irregular coastline include peninsulas as well as rocky and sandy beaches. This small town is also known as ‘Namaqualand by the sea’,
because it strongly resembles the region in the Northern Cape, where, every year from late July to September, a wild-flower carpet, similar to that of Namaqualand in the Northern Cape, decorates the normally arid land.

Adventure and Sport:
Water-sport -  Anglers and divers make frequent use of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean to while away the time and Swartriet Bay is a popular kayaking and wind-surfing venue.

Hiking -  Several hiking trails traverse Swartriet and Tieties Bays.

Fauna and Flora:
Dolphins and whales -  Dolphins and whales can be spotted in the surf from June to November.

Wild flowers -  The local wild flowers are especially beautiful during August and September.
